It is important for students to get to know as much as possible about the world outside the campus. One reason is that knowledge without practical experience is like trying to walk on one leg. Activities outside the campus can keep a persons studies based on practical reality. Another reason is that maintaining contact with the world out side the campus helps the student become mature and responsible.
There are many ways in which a student can get to know about the outside world. First, the mass media can keep the student up to date on political, cultural and sporting events, as well as the latest developments in science and technology. Second, voluntary social services, private teaching and surveys of factories or farms offer the student wide opportunities to get to know how ordinary people live.
Personally, I intend to study hard to give myself a good foundation for my future career. At the same time, I will take every opportunity to gain experience about the world beyond the campus by doing part-time jobs.

Even worse than that, vulgar commercials and indecent programs may cultivate their bad tastes, distort their viewpoints towards human life to such a degree that their minds might be corrupted.

If a 20-year-old girl eats less than what her body needs, her metabolism will slow down because there is not so much food to be digested each day. As a result，this young girl will become both physically and mentally slow as a 40-year-old one. How terrible it is! Second, dieting may affect our lives. In this modem society, people need to be very energetic to face severe competitions in their study or work. Dieting will surely reduce their energy and in turn affect their lives badly.

Its no doubt that university campuses will produce a large amount of rubbish every day, however, there are fewer college students paying attention to its classification.

Factually waste separation is vital to create an environment-friendly campus. Firstly, waste separation does great contribution to the environmental protection. Since some of waste is recyclable, while other is unrecyclable, if all the students could voluntarily differentiate recyclable rubbish from unrecyclable rubbish, the risk of the environmental pollution will be greatly reduced. Secondly, waste separation could save a lot of energy and tirne on its processing.

To whom it may concern,I am writing to you to apply for a student loan. As a freshman from the English Department, I have much financial difficulty in continuing my study.
There are five members in my family. My father is the only breadwinner of the whole family while my mother was laid off two years ago. My grandmother has been suffering a chronic illness for more than five years. My younger brother is now studying in a high school. I took part-time jobs during the summer vacation, but what I have earned is far from enough for me to pay the required tuition fees. In order to continue my study, I have to apply for a student loan.
