In support of the dormitory policies

On a Chinese college campus, usually several students share one dormitory. Unfortunately some students do not pay attention to living in a shared environment. For instance, they may ignore the sanitation of their dormitory or they may suddenly start to play music while others are sound asleep. Hence the idea of making dormitory policies to curb these indecencies has become popular on campus. I’m in favor of this idea. And I believe the policies will help students to build cozy dormitory.

First, dormitory policies would be helpful to the sanitation of dormitory. And a clean environment is indispensable for students’ attentive study. But laziness exists in human being. In a shared dormitory, students always depend on each other. It seems that no one wants to cleanse his dormitory initiatively, and considers cleaning as others’ responsibilities. Then the execution of policies will supervise students till they have awareness of keeping dorm neat and tidy.

Second, some college students are a bit selfish. They often neglect the existence of their dorm mates. The striking example is some students suddenly start to play music or read books loudly while others are sound sleep. The dormitory policies will arouse students’ awareness of playing attention to the other. People living in a dorm are sibles. We have to learn to care others.

There are many benefits of dorm policies; here I only list a few.

In all, dormitory policies do not mean to interfere in students’ daily lives, but to create a proper living and study environment for us. We college students ought to cherish the opportunities of sharing a dormitory. We will always learn a lot from our mates if we keep modest! Every student has to take his dormitory as our brothers and sisters. And take our dormitory as our own homes.
